Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Codeshot does and does not collect, and how cookies and third-party services such as advertising and analytics may be used.

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Summary

Codeshot (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is a browser-based tool at codeshot.io. The content you paste — code, terminal output, logs, JSON and so on — is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We do not require an account and we do not sell your personal information.

Information we do not collect

  • The code, text or other content you paste into any generator.
  • The images you create or export — they are generated and downloaded locally.
  • Account details, because Codeshot has no sign-up or login.

Information we may collect

Like most websites, we and our service providers may automatically receive limited technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device type, approximate region, referring page and pages viewed. This data is used in aggregate to keep the Service reliable, secure and to understand which tools are useful.

Cookies and local storage

Codeshot may use cookies and similar technologies (including your browser’s local storage) to remember preferences and to support analytics and advertising as described below. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some conveniences but the core tools will continue to work.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to measure traffic and improve the Service. These tools report aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics and do not have access to the content you paste.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We may display advertising on Codeshot to keep the Service free, including through Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Codeshot and other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
  • For more information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google’s “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”.

See our Cookie Policy for more detail on the categories of cookies that may be used.

Children’s privacy

Codeshot is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

  • Manage or clear cookies in your browser settings.
  • Opt out of personalized ads using the links above.
  • Use the Service without providing any personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
